Analysis of the current situation of domestic woolen fabrics and apparel industry

With the rapid development of the domestic economy and the increase in residents' income, consumers' consumption demand for woolen fabrics and clothing has shifted from food and clothing consumption to fashion, culture, and brand consumption. Market demand is constantly changing at a high speed. Judging from the current terminal revenue of the domestic industry, domestic brand companies account for about 40% and export processing and manufacturing about 60%. However, the proportion of domestic brand companies is gradually increasing.

At present, in the value chain of the woolen garment industry, the added value of brand marketing channel operations is the highest, followed by R&D and design, while the added value of processing and manufacturing is the lowest. In addition, due to the long industrial chain of the clothing industry, the changes in consumer demand in the downstream of the industry are accelerating. At present, domestic manufacturers have shifted from traditional large-scale and batch production to small batches, multi-categories, and fast fashion that focus on user needs.

Since 2012, the domestic Internet and e-commerce have developed rapidly, which has also promoted the transformation of the woolen clothing market. Gone are the days when the same clothing design could be sold for two or three years. Nowadays, consumers tend to pursue personalized brands and cost-effective products. The changes in consumer demand for clothing have also put forward new requirements for the clothing industry.
