The concept of various organizational structures of fabrics
In addition to the yarn count, there is another important indicator to know what the cloth looks like, that is the structure of the cloth. Generally speaking, there are mainly the following types:
1. Plain weave fabric, the warp and weft yarns are interwoven up and down, which is the most basic weaving method. The thinner and lighter plain weave is called poplin, and the thicker plain weave is called canvas.
2. There are 3 common types of twill fabric, 2/1, 3/1, 2/2, a few ups and downs refer to the ups and downs of the warp. 3/1 means that the warp yarn floats on top of 3 weft yarns, then sinks under one weft yarn, and then floats on top of 3 weft yarns. This kind of fabric is called yarn card or thread card.
3. Satin fabrics are generally 4/1, and there are also 5/3. This is more complicated, as long as you know that the surface of this fabric has a strong luster. Zhigong is more.
4. Jacquard: It is completed by more complex dobby looms, generally dobby. Such as squares, wick strips, herringbone diagonals, and satin strips are all small jacquards.
5. Velvet plants mainly include corduroy and velveteen. The main characteristic of corduroy is that the weft yarn density is much higher than the warp yarn density. Because the weft yarn becomes pile yarn after opening.
