What is polyester cotton fabric?
Poly cotton is a lightweight and common fabric, you can get it with a print on it, but you can also get plain poly cotton. Poly-cotton fabric is less expensive than cotton because it is a blend of cotton and polyester, natural and synthetic fabrics. Poly-cotton fabrics are typically composed of 65% polyester and 35% cotton, but blends can vary. It combines the breathability of cotton with the durability of polyester.
What are the advantages of polyester-cotton fabrics?
1. Cheap. Cotton is more expensive than polyester, so poly-cotton fabrics are often priced somewhere in between, making them an easily affordable option.
2. Durable. Poly-cotton fabrics are more durable than cotton fabrics, which rip or tear easily. Plus, it shrinks less in the wash than cotton and polyester fabrics.
3. Easy to take care of. The poly-cotton fabric is easy to care for and can be washed and dried multiple times without losing its shape.
4. More breathable than polyester fabric. Polyester fabric tends to stick to the skin on hot days, while cotton is highly breathable. So polyester-cotton fabrics are more breathable than polyester fabrics.
What are the disadvantages of polyester cotton fabrics?
1. A little rougher than cotton cloth, easy to pilling. Poly-cotton fabrics have a slightly rougher feel than 100% cotton fabrics. Since poly-cotton is a synthetic material, air pockets may develop on its surface over time, which can make it feel rougher.
2. Not suitable for hot environment. Poly-cotton fabrics are more breathable than polyester fabrics, but not as breathable as cotton fabrics. So poly-cotton fabrics are not suitable for hot conditions
3, Not good if you have sensitive skin. Insufficient airflow from polyester products can cause skin irritation, itching or rashes on sensitive skin.
What are the uses of polyester-cotton fabrics?
