A melange fabric is a fabric made of multiple colors, either using fibers of different colors or made from different fibers and then dyed individually.

For example, when black and white fibers are mixed, gray blended fabrics are produced. If the fabric is to be dyed individually, it is made of two or more fibers. This fabric is then dipped into multiple dye baths that are specially made so that each fiber in the fabric absorbs only certain dyes.
